Meconium illeus at birth

I'm just wondering for those who had a bowel obstruction b4 and after birth. What gene do you have.

Kayla's bowels perforated while she was in my stomach and was operated on the same day she was born. Her scar goes across her whole stomach.

No lung involvement till 6yrs old.

she is delta F508 not sure if she is a double though.

I had meconium ileus. Had to have the blockage surgically removed when I was 2 days old. I have one Delta F508 gene (Class II) and my other one is 1898+1G>A (Class I).

I had meconium ileus at birth as well. my stomach started to swell not long after birth, so I had surgery within the 24 hrs of being born. My scar also goes all the way across. My genes are Delta F508 (Class II) and G542X (Class I, i think).

I had meconium illeius at birth, and was operated on the same day (also have a long scar, that goes from top to bottom- it's longer now since my gallbladder surgery). I know I am DF508, but don't know if it's a double. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

My son Andrew was born with Meconium Ileus, surgery @ 14 hours old and just turned 18 on Sunday!
Interestingly, at my 20 week ultrasound with him, the ultrasound tech said, " Wow ! He's already got a belly on him! " I guess back in 1988-89 they didn't pick up on "bright bowel " very often!

Anyway, Andrew is Delta F508 and Q220X

Emily was born with Meconium illeus. No surgery. They used tons of irrigation (Mostly mucamyst, if I remember correctly) over several days. Every day they said they were waiting one more day before operating, and every day her vitals stayed strong, she passed just tiny tiny bits and looked good... so they hung in there until she finally passed the blockage. Never cried so hard with relief before or since. She was seven days old. Still can't beleive they didn't operate. She is DF508 and R553x.
