Congrats!
I boiled an entire 8 quart pot of nebs (6 or 7 nebs) down to a big plastic blob, basically the first time I melted any! (Do I get a prize? LOL).
Now, I always put a lid on it, set the timer for 17 mins (well, most of the time ), and try to remember to turn it down from High to Medium (barely boiling) after it boils (about 6-7 mins). So far, so good... If you have a gas stove, I would try turning the heat down a bit so the flames stay totally under the pot and use the biggest pot you have, and see if that helps.
Putting a lid mine has been a "neb saver" for me if I forget to set the timer, though .
