Personally, I can't do dairy. I do cheat every now and then, but I pay for it. It at least quadruples the amount of mucus I normally have. I had a nutritionist (not familiar with CF) tell me I was nuts when I was in the hospital and I didn't know what I was talking about. She said it was an old wives tale. Listen lady, I know my body!
Now, I do have to add that as a child I was very allergic to milk, it would give me a horrible rash. Now I do not get a rash, just the cough and excess mucus. So, I am not sure if my dairy sensitivity is due to an allergy or to CF or what exactly, but I do know that it does affect me. (despite that evil nutritionist who told me to just sip some warm water after drinking milk, ARG!).
