I'm not sure if I posted this here before, but I know that a lot of us wake up with "morning yuckiness".
Mine is a combination of a layer of mucous in the chest that has to be coughed up, my sinuses which need to be rinsed, pancreatitis pain that needs medication and a heating pad, achy joints and back due to edema problems (hormone imbalance), upset tummy that needs some bathroom time, fatigue from coughing/being in pain/not sleeping well, and taking the multitude of daily medications.
My wish is to wake up refreshed, energetic, clear-breathing, and not in pain. I'm not sure if I can fix the second two, but the first two have got to have some solutions.
No matter how much I sleep, I wake up exhausted. I have a new bed (thought that was the reason I was achy, but it's not). I sleep 8-11 hours a night (I have tried everything in between to make sure it's not too little or too much). I wake up with no energy. I wake up feeling crappy.
It takes a few hours every day to: clear out my sinuses and chest, get my tummy pain under control (I can't eat until the pain is dulled), finish my bathroom time (sometimes it takes 2-3 visits to "complete" my mission", and feel ready to do anything else. Of course, depending on what condition is flaring up, I may not have the energy or ability to go anywhere or get a lot done at home.
This is what most discourages me. I'd love to wake up, shower, eat breakfast, and go. I don't work anymore, but I do (did) have hobbies and friends, and I don't really do much with that anymore. Right now, I am plagued by allergies (despite 4 medications), pancreatitis pain, and joint and muscle aches.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to wake up refreshed and feeling good? I am taking vitamin supplements (my D is low), have started to exercise again, and try to have a regular sleep schedule. If anyone has been through this and have "fixed" it or lessened the yuckiness of the morning, please let me know. It's the thing that makes me saddest about my CF.
Thanks in advance.
