MRSA causing sinus issues?

So i went in for my clinic visit this week. My doctor and I agreed that my MRSA was acting up. I have been on Zyvox 294871298740197 times this year alone!!! LOL...obv an exaggeration...but still...its a lot of times. So 10 weeks ago I went on it again along with Tobi. I finished the Zyvox two weeks later (which would be 8 weeks ago). I finished the Tobi two weeks after that (which would now be 6 weeks ago). Well two weeks later (now 4 weeks ago) I was on Tobi and Zyvox again! I started the Tobi a few days before the Zyvox and sort of got worse before I started the Zyvox. I felt almost instantly better. Well now I finished this course of Zyvox a week ago and immediately started coughing again, like BAM the next day practically (and I was and still am on Tobi). SOOOOO this leads me to believe that it is definitely my MRSA acting up. ALSO note that I do NOT do HTS or alb (altho i have had to do this a few times) while I am doing the Tobi. I will start these back up on Sunday when I finish the Tobi. I am also starting the aztreonam study drug on Wednesday if the clinic receives my dose from the company.

My PFT's are down 10% from what they normally are. blahbla...you know the drill. My cough is VERY tight and I wheeze a little bit. My nose is also VERY congested. When my doctor looked into it the other day he said the left side esp is very swollen, but there are NO polyps. My question is do others have these symptoms as related to MRSA? Obv the lung issue is probably MRSA...but DOES MRSA show up in my sinuses too? And if it does (which I am assuming it does, b/c lung boogers are pretty much the same as nose boogers) how does it manifest itself? What would my symptoms be? I can hardly breathe through the one side and I just generally feel STUFFED...Please let me know. And if you have these issues how do you deal. My plan is to get admitted on Dec. 26th, I dont know if I can stand my nose for that longgggggggggggg...

Thanks, and HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!! <img src="i/expressions/beer.gif" border="0">

Well then...that was blunt. As far as that, I did blow...on my PFT. I blew hard, but it still sucked.

If you mean BLOW as in my nose...nothing comes out...

Caitlin, you have just described me!
Except I take Bactrim for my MRSA 10,000 times this year. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
Seems I can't be without it or I immediately start feeling sick again. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif" border="0">

I notice a huge difference in my sinus' as well when my MRSA flares. In fact I went in for an ENT surgical consult last week it was so bad. But other than being inflammed and swollen, surgery won't help mine. He just said to use sinus rinses and Rx some steroid nasal spray.

And yes, MRSA does live in the sinuses causing severe infections. If I'm not mistaken, it is commonly found in healthy nasal passages too.

Good luck, hope you get some relief soon. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
