Jess still cultures MRSA from time to time, but we do not actively treat it unless she is exhibiting other symptoms. i.e. increased cough, fever etc.

I started culturing MRSA in 8th grade (now in 11th) I have since noticed a steep decline in my quality of life/health. I am currently being evaluated for a transplant. Pre mrsa my fev1 were like in the 80% range now around 35%. However, we don't know if its the mrsa, me being an adolecent female, or both. (Bactrum and Zyvox have not worked for me) The one thing though is that it is now community acquired. Which means there is really no way to avoid it.

is this normal for a 7month old to have mrsa? the clinic is saying he could have gotten it anywhere but he cultlure nothing and the next month he had it. in the back of my mind i am thinking he got it from there. we have been so carefull not taking him anywhere but to his app. no smoking, no sick people aloud at our home. i am beating my self up thinking we have done something to cause this. my daughter never misses his treatments or meds. he weights almost 19 pounds and has not even had a cold. it kills me to think he now has mrsa that could shorten his life even more

If you do have it, I would treat it aggressively right away vs. the "wait & see if it shows symptoms" angle.

I've had PA for years & years with minimal problems, but since culturing MRSA, have noticed more issues with my lungs.

I hope by some miracle that you don't have it. Keep us posted.
