We give our DD robitussin (guafenisin only) 2.5ml 3x daily everyday. We were told it helps keep things loosened. She's a little over a year old. I think as long as it's an expectorant and not a suppresant you'll be fine. Our doctor says mucinex works just as well but it's a bit more expensive. She's been taking it everyday since she was about 3 months old.

Our doctor says it is safe. My daughter used to take it for sinus congestion too, when she was 4 years old. Hope Alexa is feeling better soon!

My boys have been taking mucinex for years and I believe it helps a lot. Last week I asked their doc if taking a generic guafenesin was as good (mucinex is timed released). She said yes.
