Are you sure its mucus and not acid reflux? That would go along with it being when she is lying down and not an all day long thing. I hope they can help you figure it out. so much of CF seems like a mystery.

I am not sure. She is on Zantac. I guess cause it's a cough I thought it would be mucus; but keeping track it is when she is lying down I've noticed when we read stories before bed; it's a wheezy noise in her throat like there is stuff there. It has happened when she is not lying down, too. I guess if I got a culture it could check for some new bacteria; if it's a clear culture, would reflux present that way? Course she always does this on Friday night so I obsess all weekend.

Alyssa is on prevacid and reglan and still refluxes occasionally. And if they aspirate on the reflux it can cause increased mucus issues too.
I'd definitely ask -- they can do a 24 hour probe to see if she's refluxing.
