Thanks for the tip about the pedialyte. We are off to the clinic first thing in the morning, hopefully they will have some answers, I am actually not going to leave until we have a plan of attack to sort it out!

Bek has had pneumonia so many times, and most of the times it wasn't discovered until an x-ray was done. The docs usually never hear anything when they listen to her.

She had an appointment on 9/11 and when I told her team that her baseline cough had increased by 50 - 75% they just listened. Her doc said he didn't hear any crackling or wheezing, so he didn't order any x-rays. When I took her to the Urgent Care center on 9/23, they did an x-ray and there was so much pneumonia in her right lung that we made the 45 minute drive straight to the hospital! If she had gotten an x-ray at her appointment, we probably would have seen the problem then and wouldn't have had to spend 12 days in the hospital.

Just because the docs don't hear anything, doesn't mean there isn't something going on in there. I would insist on an x-ray.

Sounds like he needs to be cultured and given an antibiotic. My son started pulmozyme at one month old as preventative. He didn't have lung issues at that point. I think it works very well. Both of my kids have had issues with hypertonic saline (irritation). Most seem to really like it though. Both times my kids had pneumonia as infants the drs could not hear it when they listened, only the x-rays showed it. I am not saying your son has pneumonia, only that you can't always here what is going on. Maybe an x-ray would be beneficial to see what might be going on.
