Hi I dont know if this will help at all but if you are near the ocean get in it.  It cleared up my daughter.  I rented a place in New Jersey for 2 weeks and it did her good.  She was in the water all day riding the waves.  Her doctor said that studies show that the  surfers in Australia do much better because of the salt in the ocean.  I took a chance and we went for 2 weeks and she did great!  Good luck, christine

I am sure you don't want to hear it, but if antibiotics don't fix things, then prednisone is what usually does the trick for me. Recently the doc added singulair to my regimen to see if that fights inflammation as well.

All the drugs we take have huge sets of side effects - as I get older, I start being more accepting of those side effects. My ears rings all the time, but I would rather lose my hearing than lung function. I will take prednisone's insane and chaotic side effects over coughing all night!

Want to get rid of mucus? Stop it from the source! Go on a RUN!

Your lungs are like an almost empty ketchup bottle....running makes you sweat, which creates a way for you to cough it up.....it is the ultimate detox.

When you run (esp. on hills for me) it is a way to get at the SOURCE of the cause, getting rid of it! Epic!

Exercise helps. Do a little every day. Start off light and increase slowly over time. You'll be amazed how much better you feel.

I have to agree with the people that recommend exercise. It is the best airway clearance. Don't stop other forms of clearance (flutter, vest, acapella) because those are vital to your health as well. I took the last week off of exercise (I swim) and I have had so much more mucus and coughing this past week that I can't wait to get in the pool again! Find an exercise routine and stick to it like your life depends on it because it does!

I noticed you said you were on HTS, pulmozyme, advair, etc. but you did not mention any inhaled antibiotic. I you feel like you're coughing up a ton you might want to see if there are any inhaled antibiotics you could try. If you culture PA you could try tobi, cayston, or even collisten(sp?) I know if I'm NOT on an inhaled antibiotic I feel like crap. They might be a bit easier on your body as far as side effects go. Good luck.
