My boyfriend has CF and I'm scared

Thanks everyone. My boyfriend is attending technical college right now, so he can't really afford insurance right now. That makes it hard to really issue him an ultimatum. Right now I'm a substitute teacher looking for a permanent teaching position. Maybe by the time I do, we'll be in a situation where I can put him on my insurance. I love him a lot, there is no way I could ever turn my back on him. He means the world to me.

As someone who has been in your shoes I would have to say it is necessary and urgent that he see a regular doctor who understands his body and his disease. CF is a progressive illness, and it gets worse as he gets older.

He may be able to get insurance through the state. Where do you guys live? I would look into it. State Medicaid or a special aid just for people with CF. My children get both.
