Being 47 I experienced much of what you did including 'Little Guy, Big Truck'. I drove a semi for a living for 23 years. I loved it & not a day goes by that I don't miss it.
Interestingly enough, my pulmonologist said driving that truck may have been one of the reasons my life has been prolonged & also why I never had many pulmonary problems until my late 30's.
He said the constant vibration & the rough ride helped to keep the crap in my lungs loose, allowing me to spit ot up all day.
