I too am allergic to Cipro and Levaquin, actually had anaphylactic reactions! So, because I have problems with that class of medications, the doctors don't even dare to give me any more meds from the quinilone family. I wouldn't let them either, that scared the hell out of me! I would definitely have a chat with your doctor about this side effect, looks like you won't be taking anymore Avelox. My PMD pushed it a lot on me over the past year or so, I guess because the drug reps pushed it on him, but my CF team never gave it to me.
I remember being so nausous on it, throwing up, dizzy and being tired.. Cipro does the same thing to me.
Really my favorite antibiotic is Bactrim DS, that one never hurts my kidneys or anything.
Right now I am on Bactrim IV DS and I think it is the best bet for me.
