My husband has had terrible sinus issues all his life..

My husband deals with sinus issues 24/7 all year long it seems. It constant pressure, headaches, and usually infections. Is it possible for the CF gene to show iself, but not have full blown CF?

Another thing I question is my sister. Although we tend to laugh about it, has always been told that she "tastes" like a salt stick by differents boyfriends as she was growing up. She's had the salt crystals form on her forehead. She's 39 now, and probably won't have any children, so at this point we don't know if she's a carrier, but because of the CF in our family, we just assume she's a carrier also. Is this just the CF gene showing itself in some form?

awhile ago reseachers always stated that you have to have two genes to show any signs of cf..but that is not the case anymore...many research out there is showing a link between being a carrier and having other health issues. this is probably due to the fact that a carrier also has problems with their CFTR and transporting ions; although not on the same level as someone that has cf.

Both my FIL and BIL have horrible sinus issues, infections, multiple surgeries -- so I can't help but think there's a correlation between carrier status and symptoms. Both have found relief in symptoms and number of infections from doing sinus rinses. My BIL sometimes nebs ABX thru a sinus nebulizer and also has done abx rinses.
