ok ok, first off, lung function always goes down during pregnancy-whether you have cf or not-you have a baby, and a huge uterus plus fluid pushing up on your lungs, so you aren't getting as much air in.
my doctor didn't do pfts on me past 5 months, bc basically there was very little point for me. we knew it was going to go down anyway, like it would if a perfectly healthy preg woman got a pft during pregnancy.
your pfts will come back up after you give birth-of course how much depends alot on you, and on staying away from germs!
work work work after birth to get them back up-don't worry, they will climb up again.
as to delivery-some docs told me to expect a pre-term birth, and if I made it to 32 weeks i'd be lucky. this worry caused alot of stress to me while i was pregant. and-i delivered 2 weeks late. so there. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">
all that worry for nothing.
of course, women cf can deliver early, and women without cf can deliver early, and anything can happen.
but what you have to believe and have to tell yourself is that everything will be ok. you can not stress like this-is really is bad for the baby, and for your cf.
try to gauge how you feel, as opposed to how your pfts are. to be more short of breath is normal during preg-how do you feel otherwise? listen to your body. women were made to be able to give birth-you can do it. you have to have confidence.
feel free to pm anytime! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I went to a cf clinic when i was really little.. but my mom switched me for whatever reasons! so yeah pretty much my first time! hm not sure what he was talking about something about my small airway being 14 out of a 100 and my big one being 42 out of a 100.. i didnt understand exactly what he meant but when he drew that chart and put me almost all the way at the bottem i freaked out!

but wow thanks everyone it gives me hope knowing that my lung function can go back up after the baby is born!! im most def going to work hard at it!!
