I know exactly how you feel!
<br />I have an IV pole in my room too, for the tube feeds. It sucks, but it is a good place to hang Christmas garlands. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

For starters...decorate your room!!!
Here's some ideas...
1. Hang up posters
2. Hang up pictures of friends
3. Paint room
4. Add a rug or two
5. Replace light bulbs with colored light bulbs
6. Put stickers on your IV pole if allowed
7. If you have stuffed animals, then put ribbons on their necks
8. Put cool looking curtains on your window(s)
9. Get some wall art sticker stuffs *(found online)*

I can totally relate to this. Although its my daughters room that looks like a hospital...I am 20, she isgoing to be turning 1 in 3 weeks. She has her neb, cpt machine, feeding pump, and her own little frig with her medications in it with of course all the syringes and g tube mic key kits.
What I did was I kinda masked all of the stuff around colorful pretty things...alot of her supplies are under her crib in draws. Her pump is obviously right by her crib but I made a little puppet type guy that goes over the top of the IV pole to make it less IV poley hhahaa and then the Neb and CPT machine is tucked away in the corner by the chair we do it in.
