I stopped burning candles and using air freshener. We were told when DS was a baby that he shouldn't be around smoke 2nd or 3rd hand (on clothes or hair)...

I use perfume and hairspray, but don't spray them when DS is in the room or is going to be in the room. I get ready for work about an hour before he gets up, so I figure the spray has disipated since then.

I think this one is going to be alittle harder to control. If she knew she was going to see the kids she should not put any on. I know that I wear perfume but not around Grayson if I can help it. By that I mean, there has been a few times that they dropped in on us and I was freaking cause I had just got home from work and had some on. We use ALL Free Detergent and softner, hated to give up my downey. Also changed cleaning supplies with the green ones. There is fragrance in everything now. But the bath gels bother them too? Shampoos, soaps, hair gels or sprays? How do you go completely scent free?

I am father of the Middle East,my baby cystic fibrosis, the age my son is seven years, the medical care available here in the zone is the primitive, as well as medicines are not available on a permanent basis to deal with my son, also the information about the disease and its evolution is not sufficient, especially that my son had contracted the disease in the age of six, as I understand that this disease has dozens of branches, my son needed medical care to the complex is known to many of you, and these are non-professionally in our region, I ask that you notify me of any progress on the medication, especially cystic fibrosis patients or medical equipment as a donor to my son

I think this might be hard for some people to understand too. Many people don't get bothered by perfumes (obviously bc alot of people wear them) so they don't get it when other people are sensitive to them. My daughter with CF has a really strong sense of smell (gets it from my husband) and she LOVES smelling perfumes and other scents. It makes me cringe because I am super-sensitive to scents. Perfumes, candles, potpouri, etc all really bother me and if I am around them too much I will almost always have sinus congestion and maybe even an infection. I wonder if my daughter will eventually be affected the same way. It took me years to figure this out for myself. Anyway, you can tell that this stuff seems to bother your daughter so you just have to stand your ground. Maybe you can complile some information on the effects of these chemicals on people (with or without CF) and share this with your SIL.

I will never understand why some people have such trouble with these little things that are so important to us and our children.
