M is developmentally way behind where he should be. There's absolutely no way he could operate a Neti-pot and tolerate it.

But, I ran into this product and I'm still toying with whether its worth the $$ or not. I know the company. They are top notch and don't recommend products they haven't personally tested and loved. But, they are primarily a book company that has branched out into other stuff...which is why I've been toying with this for 4 months since I saw it but haven't forked over the $$ for it yet.

My son had horrific sinuses starting at age 1. After his first surgery we had no choice but to get him used to the NeilMed rinses. At first, it was torture. He felt like he was drowning. Now at age 4 he does them daily without a problem....

We don't use a netti pot, but we use the squeeze bottle that came with the kit -- DS uses the Ayr brand and I use neil med. Years ago my ENT prescribed sinus rinses and gave me a recipe -- told me to snort the water or use a bulb syringe. Was horrible -- it burned and I felt as if I was drowing. Haven't had any issues with the the kits.

My BIL, no cf, has sinus issues and he has a sinus nebulizer attachment, which he uses with abx. Wonder if that might be an option for M and if HTS or saline could be used with it... I know there are people on this site who have used the sinus nebulizer attachment, and isn't there a waterpik attachment, too. Could try posting in adult section.

waterpik attachment? So you use a waterpik to squirt saline up your nose? We have a waterpik for another child who accumulates black plaque on his teeth but he won't use it. Trying to visualize how you use nasal saline with a waterpik though.

They just ordered HTS for M. He's never had it before. I figured I'd see how that goes first. ENT says he has no sinus issues, but the issue is his aednoids.
