I have had 2 polypectomies in the past, and will be going for my 3rd on January 4th. I don't have allergies, only seasonal..which is even a little rare for me..this year is the first year ive ever shown signs of that.
I just hate being couped up in the house for a week.</end quote></div>
<div>
</div><div>At bare minimum, DD is going to have to have this done. Is this typically an "office" procedure or do they do it in the hospital--same day? overnight?</div></end quote></div>
<div>
</div><div>I get them done hospital-same day, in by like 7 and out by like noon or 1ish..or at least thats what i remember when i last had it done, i was like 14 then..im 23 now..it mighta been less time, i know it was early in, and afternoon out..then for me it was a week of sitting at home, no bending over and such with packing in my nose....not looking forward to it, but im very eager to be able to properly breathe again!</div></end quote></div>
<div><br></div><div>A WEEK at home with packing in your nose?!?!?! I've had 5 of these surgeries before (1 done at mass general in MA, 3 done in arizona at the phoenix chop, and 1 done at penn heart and lung center in philly), and I've never had packing in my nose for more then 12 hours.
</div><div><br></div><div>The final one that was done in philly didn't even require packing either! They apparently tried some new technique of cauterising while they cut, and I only had minor oozing for the night after that with a piece of goz strapped to my nose. Was a borderline painless recovery too outside of a very minor headache afterwards that only lasted the first night!!</div><div><br></div><div>Last time I had one done too was.. back when I was 19, and im 25 now. </div><div><br></div><div>I also had to spend one night after it in the hospital tho just to be monitored each time, and then the doc would pull the packing the next morning (except for the philly one).</div><div><br></div><div>I.. Couldn't even imagine having packing in for a week straight like that. The ONLY painful part about that surgery, imo, was the freakin packing. ***** was nightmarish, and caused the healing areas to always throb relentlessly, triggering HORRIBLE headaches and facial pains. >_<</div><div><br></div><div>Do not have that surgery done with any doctor that claims you need to have packing in for a week. They're retarded if they try to make you deal with that *****. >_<</div>
