natural things

Hi! This is my first ever post--I'm happymom, and my daughter, Joy, age 12, just finished a tune-up in the hospital that lasted a month! I'm always interested in natural remedies, but find that it takes so much time just to do the "unnatural" stuff (creon 20, xopanex, pulmozyme, Tobi etc.)that I don't have much energy leftover to research other things. That changed, though, during this hospitalization--I'm hungry to find out what I can do to help Joy become healthier, using more natural things that don't compromise "traditional" therpaies. In the hospital, among other things, Joy was given I.V. colistin and nebulized colistin (not sure of the spelling). The doc sent us home with a prescription for nebbed colistin--but I couldn't get the whole batch because of the co-pay cost.
I'm feeling a bit down (so much for being called "happymom"!), and could use some encouragement. Looks like I'll be spending the day tomorrow fighting the insurance company and looking for copay relief!
And, I'm still VERY interested in anything natural other moms have found...we give Joy 1,000 mg. of vitamin C once or twice dailly, plus extra vitamin D (as prescribed by nutritionist, almost 1,000 mg!), and Reuteri (natural enzymes to help stomach issues).
Thanks!

I use the DDS Probitics brand,, non-dairy.
The bottle recommends 1/4 teaspoon daily. you can not OD on probiotics, may just waste money

Hi happymom and welcome to the boards. I'm working a lot of overtime right now, so I'm just beat, but thought I would suggest you check out my website to get some idea of the natural stuff that my son wcf and I do: http://www.healthgazelle.org/cf.shtml

Can you please elaborate on how and when you use each of these? I have a two and half year old son with cf and am looking into natural things. Thanks
