Hi Everybody,
I recently read that when nebulizing antibiotics one should not be in the presence of others unless a special filter is used on the nebulizer to keep others from inhaling the drug.
For over a year I have been nebbing colistin, and noone ever said anything to me about this. Yesterday I asked my consultant, and he said that no such precautions are necessary and that nothing will happen to my husband or kids from sitting with me while I neb the colistin.
What is your experience with this? Do you neb antibiotics with others in the room? Do you use a special filter?
Thanks in advance for your responses!
