Need a new Pharmacy

Just like the topic states, I'm looking for a new pharmacy. The one I go to now is really great about getting all my stuff filled and covered, but it's about 15 miles away from my house so it's a pain to get things from there when I'm sick.

Do you use local pharmacies? Chains? I just tried looking at CF Pharmacy online, they might be a good option if they accept my insurance. I called all the local chains here and none of them could special order Colistin for me, for whatever reason. And all of the pharmacists but 1 were very rude and acted like I was wasting their time for calling to ask questions.

All this hassle, I think in the end I might just suck it up and drive...

We're fortunate in that our local pharmacy has been able to get us just about everything and in a timely manner. Plus I drive past in on the way home for lunch every day. It's very close. I'll call something in and it's usually ready by noon the next day. If they can't get it for us, it's not available -- like the vitamin issue last fall.

I have dealt with the CF Services Pharmacy as well, had a few issues with shipping and customer service reps, but they did take our insurance -- I believe they take most insurances and they'll check for you. Plus it was convenient to place the order online, track it.

I use CF services too. Typically they are ok, sometimes I've had shipping issues too. Like I'll need albuterol really soon and then I've ordered another med and they've held BOTH meds until the other med goes thru (defeating the purpose of shipping albuterol first).

I use 2 local pharmacies. I don't really like one but they have a drive thru, the other is at the hospital...I don't really like going into hospital's (I'm afraid of picking up a virus/bug/germ).

It's always a pain with insurance, etc. I just go where I have to. Oh and I use a speciality pharmacy that is thru my secondary insurance. Total pain in the butt!!

I get all my meds from the grocery store pharmacy near my house. I've used them for several years. They are called Raley's, Bel Air or Nob Hill. It's just a chain. They can get most anything I ask for. The only thing I've found they don't carry is the CF Source Softgels, but the do carry Aquadek.

I use Colistin type inhaled antibiotics, not colistin exactly, but aztreonam and ceftaz. They had struggles ordering it the first time, but now they are pros.

The only thing I use CF Services pharmacy for is the CF Source Softgels because I have to pay cash and they are cheapest there. I'm not a fan of mail ordering anything. I prefer the next day service (say something is out of stock or special order) that my pharmacy can provide.
