I have taken paxil and they said it worked best for anxiety mixed with depression which it did make me feel better but I was sick to my stomach the whole time. Then they but me on cymbalta which was OK but made me tired all the time. I found the perfect mix though when they put me on Lamictil(sp?) and inderal which is for lowering blood pressure but worked for anxiety because it naturally calms you by lowering blood pressure. I have very little side effect from these. But I will say that I had been given different diagnoses from different doctors. the latest is mixed bi polar state which is somehow different from bi polar. But this med combo doesn't make me sick to my stomach and doesn't make me feel like a zombie. During one of the other meds they put me on seroquel and I totalled my car within 3 weeks of taking it. Kept me in a fog. That is all I know. Hopefully something here helps...

I take cymbalta and that works well for me. I think that I had some mild side effects for the first couple of weeks but they went away (my doctor said that is not uncommon). So, give some others a try and see if you can find one that works for you. I know that it is really frustrating to deal with side effects and waiting for the anti-depression part to kick in. I had to go through several different ones and dosages before we found what is working for me now. Good luck!!

I was put on Celexa this hospitalization and it seems to work fine. I haven't been on it long enough to really tell though (its for anxiety for me).... I haven't had any side effects from it though, which is half the battle IMO. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Good luck. I know its daunting to find a good combo (or even single) of meds to treat and do what they're supposed to.

Thanks for the suggestions. Cymbalta is supposed to help with pain too isn't it? Like headaches and such? That might be good for me. Now when the heck do I have time to get to the doctor????
