DS never had vitamin D, but he's been on A & E since he was a few months old. We were told to puncture the capsule and give him a drop or two once a day. Your dietician might be able to offer some suggestions. I know one of DS' local doctors was concerned with this, but they were able to figure out how much of the vitamin DS was getting by calculating how many drops were in a capsule and how much he needed.

I know that my boys both like Trix Yogurt, it is very high in Vit. D. It personally think it is digusting but they have loved it since they were little. That is really the only thing that I can think of. Hope this helps.

Hi, i also wanted to second the Calciferol. My daughter was just put on it, and it is liquid drops that you can add to their drinks (she takes 5 drops a day, for 1000IU). She also eats plenty of other things with vit D, and also her vitamins. Our doctor said that it wasn't the same as eating foods with it added in, they don't absorb all of it and every extra counts. She said you can't really overdose them on vitamins, as long as its not in the multivitamin forms. Our insurance covered it, luckily (they won't usually do any vitamin/mineral supplements) but our doc said it was a different sort of vitamin. It doesn't taste so swell though (it's mixed with propyl glycol), but i split it up over the course of the day in her drinks. Hope this helps!! and good luck!

Okay, Thank you for all your help last week...I contacted the CF Pharmacy about Calciferol, and it sounded like that was are best bet for Vitamin D (Liquid Drops). They told me to contact our CF nurse, and have her call it in. Well, I didn't hear back after a couple days. So, I called the clinic this morning and they said that the nurse called the CF Pharmacy, but Calciferol isn't what he needs. He needs Vitamen D 3! So, I'm still having trouble finding this anywhere...Please let me know how to go about getting this for my son.....
