Okay, I got a call from the CF Clinic...And they gave me my answer..Our son needs right now 500IU right now...So, I purchased online Bio-D Mulsion by Biotics Research Corporation. It says it supplies vitamin D3 (400 IU per drop).....I'm very happy to know its coming....Thanks again.

Emily just started on vitamin D, too. Per our clinic's suggestion, we are using Walgreens' OTC brand. It is cholecalciferol. Emily should have 800 IU, but clinic said there was no danger in taking 1000. We'll check her levels in November and adjust from there. We are using the geltabs. We punctured it at first and squeezed out the liquid, but after a few days she wanted to just swallow the "bubble." She thinks this is great fun. This is one med that has to go HIGH UP on the shelf becasue it's not child-proofs and I found her looking for her bubbles the other day. Anyway, she can swallow it down by her self, so we'll be trying enzymes that way, soon, too.

There is a 500 IU version of the geltab on the shelf at our Walgreen's. The bottle cost about $7.00 for 60.

I know there was a D3 there, too, but I think it was in a tablet form. I'm curious as to why they specified D3. Anyone know the specifics of the differences between D3 and D? (I could probably just Google it, huh?)

Cod liver oil is great!!! It has 400 IU's of Vitamin D in 1 Teaspoon, and 41 calories! The stuff at the health food store that I get does not have a fishy taste.

Is is also a great source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids. But, it does have Vit. A so be careful not to over do it.

Do not take Vit D2, it is not good. Make sure you get Vit. D3, calciferol.
