Need to vent

Perhaps, but I do know that he left the Facebook CF sites because of all the negativity, so I'm inclined to think he has the same mindset as me. I will ask him sometime.

I know a kid, through Facebook, who has a J-tube, PFT's are in the toilet and he's listed for a transplant (but currently inactive). I've yet to see a "woe is me" post. He actually seems like a really fun guy to be around. It's all about what you choose to focus on. Apparently, quite a few of you choose to focus on the negative. Carry on.</end quote>

Sometimes people need to be negative because we have to be positive for everyone else all the rest of the time. I don't know how many times I have been told (yes, me, the horrible, negative, person I apparently am) "Wow, you take this so well and you stay so positive about it!" I smile, nod my head, and don't give much of a reation while I explode inside. This is the only place (Including CF facebook groups I'm on) that I let myself be negative and say what I feel.
Don't base your view of someone on one aspect from one forum and one board.
But I'll never actually meet you, so it doesn't really matter does it?

Havoc, can I just say that what's on the surface is not always what a person really feels. I never vent on my facebook account. Never. If people were to take what I post on Facebook as how I feel everyday, they would have a very wrong opinion of me. Your friend, while I obviously can't speak for him, may have people outside of the internet that hear his venting, and can be there for him in person. When you say that it's what you choose to focus on, you are right. However, that does not mean every single person doesn't have the right to vent and complain about their life. To base your opinion of people on one post is very close-minded. People have bad days; it happens. It is not for you to call these people negative for having a bad day and wanting to come to a forum where they can find understanding. It's the same for every other person in the world, who has a person or place they can go to just get things off their chest.

musclemania I agreed with you, I still do not get it? but it's worldwide and so important to so many people, I just am a old fool for sure. I email the people I want to talk with. My hearing is bad (due to meds) so I am hardly ever on the phone, but this FACEBOOK thing I am just lost, I know it's my age. I had a friend teach me myspace when my son was in HS a few years ago so I cld ck on what he may be up to? then that went out, just my luck. I do not even own a phone with texting, who has that much to say to people all day long???? This is the only other site I visit cause it has such a large following and it has helped me finally talk with people that are dealing with alot of the same issues as me. It truly is a blessing most times. But I take my breaks from here as well. Pat-56/CF

Hello CF friends if I may call you that. God is a all Mighty God!! We have to play the hand we are dealt, regardless of whether it is bad or good. Depending on the decisions we make in life, whether they are good or bad we have to live with them. Attitude helps in making the correct choices. For me I never wake up feeling bad because why me. I am just grateful that I wake up. Yes I spend countless hours coughing my head off, but I do not complain; just glad God has given me some tools to work with. Life for "any CFer" is not easy. "We all" have had problems, some more severe than others. It is not the game but our attitude that makes the difference. Having worked in medicine for 35 yrs. let me assure you there a lot of folks a heck a lot worse off. Just look around, you do not have to look far.
So you be who you are, for me I am a happy, positive person and that will Never change. My brother who died from CF at a early age23, last statement to me, "See you in heaven brother" and I will!! Not once did I ever ever here him complain, he lived life to it's fullest. For him it was a great 23 years on this planet. So I will not waist what few moments (when looking at eternity) that I have remaing on this planet complaining. Just be glad at what I have
Take care and remember life is a gift, enjoy, it is short by any standard, have a great day!!)
