I don't care what anyone says, that's just plain wrong. maybe those parents should stop eating, drinking & doing anything besides praying...i mean they dont really need it because God wants them to live right

I don't wanna stir up a lot of trouble here, but maybe instead of judging and condemning parents like this we ought to be trying to help them.

These are two people who were decieved and they paid a high price for it. Rather than calling them idiot and sending them to prison and being filled with hatred, I'd like to bring them to the truth so there can be redemption and remission of sins, instead of only condemnation.

I mean, people call me judgmental and hypocrite all the time simply because I'm a Christian, but look at how a lot of you are responding to this situation.</end quote></div>

Umm, did you read the same story? There is an 11 year old girl who suffered and DIED. She is the only one who has paid a price - her life.

The truth here is that there is a dead child, and she deserves justice. Her siblings deserve to have never witnessed this. Those same siblings deserve proper medical care.

I don't think you have a sorry leg to stand on in calling me hypocritical. I have the same set of standards for everyone - letting your child die, that's pretty much the bottom of the barrel. Judgemental, oh absolutely. They. Let. A. Child. Die. I'm not seeing where judgemental is a bad thing here.

You are the one being hypocritical. Caring nothing for the dead girl (she is not mentioned ONCE in your post), and wanting to "save" her parents with the "true" religion. We live in a society of laws, and you want to let them slide to help them redeem their sins. Dollars to donuts, had this been a case of any other religion (or lack of religion), you would be chomping at the bit to see them stoned.

I will never understand why more people don't find this way of looking at life proper: Believe in "God" all you want. Realize that all religious tomes are some of the worlds first social programs, stories written by man that are metaphors and parables to usually help give people guidance and understanding (Job = Never give up tne the face of massive adversity, The Ark/Great flood = Plan ahead and be prepared, etc etc). Just like drugs, people can abuse religion, be weak willed and have others who are usually religious sociopaths control them and turn them into puppets and directly spew their warped interpretation to their "flock". So much so you eventually have the tragedy that we have here.

So I will say again, nothing is wrong with a religious belief, especially one based on kindness , tolerance, and compassion. But when you have gotten to the point where these parents have gotten, you obviously abused religion like some people abuse heroin, and have lost all touch with reality. If you harm your child due to your warped ideas via either inaction or action, you are subject to our laws.

I worship "God" every Sunday...In his church of creation: The wonderful woods where I play paint ball. I breath in the air "God" made, marvel at all the creations and trees and plants "God" made. And pay my respects to "God" and say thank you by enjoying the life "God" gave me.

The term "God" is extremely subjective, and people let their interpretations run wild and create all kinds of dogma associated with "God". To me, "God" is a force, a connective energy between all living (and non living) things. Remember, anything written, was written by man. And mankind will always have an agenda.
