Neuropathic Pain??

Has anyone here with CF and CFRD ever been diagnosed with neuropathic pain?? I have been in horrible pain for weeks now and my doctor can't quite figure it out? I'm not aloud to have ibprophen because it causes hympothesis and it's the only thing that helps. It's in my joints and my long bones, some times it feels like arthritus, some time it feels like pins and needles, sometimes it feels like burning fire throughout my body, but it never goes away, even with tylenol. I've had to cancel most of my appointments (accept my medically related ones) this week cause it's to hard to move around. Please please help!! Any suggestions/info???

My has had Neuropathy...The one thing that really helped him was called lyric. He saw a neurologist for it. After many test, we never did find out what caused the neuropathy but the lyric took away the numbness and pins and needles feeling. Pre-lyric, there were times that Cory couldn't feel his legs and feet and couldn't even walk

My father has Neuropathy w/o Diabetes... and I have to go for a test on Tuesday, because I am showing signs. I really hope I do not have it... I hope that you do not have it as well... the pain is very unforgiving as you get older... He is on all sorts of pain meds... sometimes they barley mask it. I can not take pain meds, so if I do have it I am a little screwed.

I wish the best for you and hope that Neuropathy is not something that you have to deal with on top of CF.

I'll let you know how the tests went after I get the results.

This sounds really scary...I'm concerned about my son who has cf and type 1.

I understand that the nerve damage accompanying diabetes doesnt show up until you've had it for a while? Jason, do you know why you have it? Is it some sort of hereditary thing with you and your dad?

Michelle, was Cory's due to cfrd? arche, how is your cf? How old are you? How is your cfrd? Are you insulin dependent? I dunno, maybe I'm better off not knowing and plodding along <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Knowledge is everything! So please, could you all elaborate a little more? Thanks.

PS, hope you both get good outcomes, let us know how the Lyric goes, I've never heard of it.
