If you get the sweat test.....ask for the actual number. Dont just except "normal low, etc".

We have many people that had low #'s on the sweat test, but when going for the genetic testing was confirmed to have CF.

I would push for the genetic testing as well, but most doctors &/or insurance want sweat tests first because its cheaper.

Good Luck & let us know what happens or if you have more ?? or problems.

So my daughter went to the Dr. today and I asked about CF testing and she said my daughter doesn't "look" like a CF'er. But she said we could do blood tests (not genetic testing). She is testing for food allergies and doing a cbc w diff and platlets and T4 testing. I found out my daughter is in the negative 5th percentile for her weight. I didn''t even know you could be negative. What can the Dr. see in the blood tests that could indicate or not indicate CF? Thanks so much!!
