<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote><i>Originally posted by: <b>kitomd21</b></i> Unfortunately, we don't take DD to any known CF gatherings other than her CF clinic. Not worth the risk. She can decide for herself when she's an adult...until then, we're erring on the side of caution. If it's known that CF individuals can spread strains to other CF individuals, it doesn't make sense to take the chance.</end quote></div>
That was our BIGGEST fear when DS was a baby/toddler and going to the CF clinic as the local one didn't/doesn't have good germ control policies. We actually stopped going because they had a small crowded waiting room, played musical rooms, would bring toys in from the waiting room -- was HORRIBLE.
As far as CF events, we did avoid the CF walk for a long time because the walks take place at a park and I couldn't trust anyone to keep DS away from the playground and the other children while I helped out and there are several families who still go to the the local CF clinic who aren't concerned with cross contamination. Nowdays we keep DS with our group and we eat at my inlaws afterwards and take him to the park near our house later in the afternoon.
