Angela, welcome. As everyone has already said, this site is great. I know you will find much information and support here. It sounds like you have a full house! I hope your son continues to improve with the new treatments you are doing. I know my son sure did after his diagnosis. Keep us posted.

It's all so overwhelming. You expect to deal with normal baby issues and suddenly you're learning about nebulizers, CPT, enzymes, measuring out oral meds in syringes every day. Pretty soon you'll get into a routine and have things figured out. I actually enjoy hanging out with DS watching videos, talking while doing nebs and CPT. And I know my husband likes his snuggle time in the mornings when DS has Tobi treatments.

I still worry about the future, the diagnosis, medical care and treatments, but it's not that horrible, horrible deer caught in the headlights feeling of panic I used to get when DS was first diagnosed. We pretty much have our routine down, though I'll admit I get thrown for a loop when a new one is added.

Hi All- I am new to the sight & had questions! My son is 5 weeks old. He had a positive newborn screen & a borderline sweat test. We are in the process of getting the genetic tests done. My question is- I am a Carrier of CF & my husband is not. My Amnio when I was Pregnant came back as a normal Healthy boy with no CF seen. I am almost sure that my son is a CF Carrier. What are the chances my son has CF with a negative parent(my husband was tested when I was pregnant) Has anyone had this? Everything I read says you need 2 parents to inherit CF!

We saw a genetics specialist today and from how she explained it to us, both parents have to be carriers of the recessive gene. I am new to all of this, though so some more experienced parents may be more help to you than I can be. I would still pursue the genetic screening. Does your son have any symptoms?

Angela, Mommy to Luke, just diagnosed
