WOW! That's expensive for IUI, the actual procedure. Most insurance companies in the US exclude any fertility treatment/procedures, which would include the IUI. We paid out of pocket for our IVF. However they did quote us $400 for an IUI cycle, plus the cost of donor sperm but we didn't want to go that route.
