Okay...glad to know. Abby's been coughing and was put on Xopenex to help aide in the eradication of a URI.
How do you all coordinate things between your CF center and your Pedi? That is beginning to stress me. Our Pedi is VERY proactive in his care and treatment of Abby, but I don't want to get into battles wondering what to do when and where and how and which Dr and all of that.

The Xopenex is a bronchiodialator, similar to albuterol which will help to open up the airways. Basically you want to get that nasty stuff up and out so infection doesn't breed. DS is on atrovent/albuterol to open up his airways while doing cpt/vest.
We prefer to call the CF clinic. For one thing they're more proactive than the peds clinic. And although DS's pediatrician is part of the local CF clinic, in the past, we've just been told to go to urgent care -- that his doctor isn't available . We've learned that for him, augmentin is better than amoxicillan for getting rid of his ear or sinus infections. So he'd get a script for amox from urgent care and 10 days later, he'd still be sick. And it still stresses me out to no end to deal with his peds clinic vs. his CF center which is farther away. The local peds just don't want to cooperate with the CF center, feel threatend almost... Drives me nuts
