What did you do when you went out? Was the weather nice? Do you live in an area where people have fireplaces going? Is the general air polution bad at this time of the year? Did you consume any alcohol? Did you have any food and if so what was it? Some meds in combination with alcohol can cause real problems.

A lot of things can make me feel sick and short of breath after being out! It could be a combination of things that is causing your current situation.

When I am not feeling well I always ask myself the question... "What would make me feel better right now?" It could be, having a treatment. It could be, having a conversation with a family member or close friend. It could be, taking a nap. I will even call the doctors office if I am particularly worried!

The important thing is to take steps to improve your current situation and the most important result you are looking for is to reduce the stress.

I use a number of techniques to reduce stress and I often find that I start to feel better soon after I start taking steps to take extra good care of myself.

Hope you are feeling better and your breathing has improved!!

Sincerely:

I hope you're feeling better really soon! I think we all get into that "funk" when we're not breathing like we should... I don't know anyone who wouldn't get bummed out by not being able to breathe. Just know we're thinking of you and you're deffinitely not alone in your feeling this way!

Nicola, I am happy to hear that you are feeling a bit better today...It sounds like you had a ball at your friends party. I too have pushed myself in doing things, I call them "have fun now, pay later" events. But hey, I never have any regrets. I hope you continue to get better...Hugs, Jenn

I was about your age when I realized I could no longer do the kinds of things my friends with healthy bodies could do.

All those years ago my friends and I would go out to night clubs and bars at least three nights a week and often get intoxicated. We also did some drugs on occasion. The bars we went to were smoke filled and we did this no matter what the weather was.

My wake up call came one night when I found myself laying behind a stone wall in the middle of my town at 1 AM and had no idea how I got there. My so called friends had dumped me behind the wall after I had passed out so I could sleep it off as they took my car on a joy ride.

Several months after this happened I suffered a complete colapse of my right lung. A six month recovery period followed but it took me several more years to finally take responsibility for my health! I did a lot of suffering during the in between time!

It has been a bumpy road but the steps I took to get on track and fully appreciate my illness and understand what role my actions play in my health have been very rewarding.

I am now fifty eight years old and in relatively good health, all things considered.

I am glad you are feeling better!

Sincerely:

PeterC
