I'm encouraging you to read this article from CNNMoney. I really was surprised to see this article in CNN since they are definitely Pro-Dem.

Obama was pretty clear in the debate tonight he won't even touch health care until he's solved the energy problem. It's going to be a looong time before America's energy independent.

McCain said he'd work on energy, healthcare and education simultaneously. He does talk about covering pre-existing conditions on his site:<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>As President, John McCain will work with governors to develop a best practice model that states can follow - a Guaranteed Access Plan or GAP - that would reflect the best experience of the states to ensure these patients have access to health coverage. One approach would establish a nonprofit corporation that would contract with insurers to cover patients who have been denied insurance and could join with other state plans to enlarge pools and lower overhead costs. There would be reasonable limits on premiums, and assistance would be available for Americans below a certain income level.</end quote></div>
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Issues/19ba2f1c-c03f-4ac2-8cd5-5cf2edb527cf.htm">http://www.johnmccain.com/Info...-8cd5-5cf2edb527cf.htm</a>

I feel like McCain's plan is a little more realistic, and I think its something he could actually pass through legislature.

I don't think Obama meant he wasn't going to work on health care until we are energy independent. I took what he said to mean that energy is priority number #1, so he will concentrate on that more than the other issues, and tackle it first. But he's not going to wait 10 years to even look at health care (which of course would mean he would never look at health care because he wouldn't even be president anymore <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
