OBE or out-of body experience?

I had similiar, buy not exact things, Fr3ak when I was with my first husband. I thought it was one of my Grand Mal Seizures since I am an Epileptic. All my seizures taken place while I am sleeping (usually around the same time that I have been asleep), but I dont know anything happened until I awake AFTER the seizure is over.

This one time was quite different. As a matter of fact when I "snapped out of it" (for lack of better words) I questioned if I had a seizure, a dream or what, but it scared the hell out of me. I chalked it up to seizure because physically I felt the same after a seizure. I was drained, sore muscles from the rigidness of my body, headache. The only difference was that my throat was extremely sore & I was hoarse. My first husband said I was screaming like hell. What I really remember is that I couldnt move.....I was paralyzed and my mind was yelling MOVE, MOVE but I just couldnt.

To date I have never had another unless you count sugar crashes (LOL) so I still dont know what it was, but I will still lean toward a seizure. If I didnt have an epileptic history then maybe I would think OBE!

Hi Jazzysmom/Melissa,

Thanks for your reply, hopefully I will start to pre-empt when it going to happen and control it more.

I've never had a history of Epilepsy or ever had seziures, no one heard me, so I dare say nothing was verbalised...

Maybe I am just going around the bends LOL.... I will keep hunting for answer and maybe I will find them!

I find it odd how well aware I am of my surroundings and I can still hear perfectly the things around me like the dogs or pete moving...

Thanks again for the reply!

I know that in our REM sleep being paralysed is one of them but not sure what stage it is, I have experienced being paralysed and it sucks especially when you are trying to run away from something or someone in the dream and you cant run fast enough and my heart Im sure starts to race its a weird feeling. I have also experienced flying which is AWESOME I havent had one of them dreams in forever but I love the feeling I get I have also dreamed I could breath underwater which is another AWESOME experience and its wierd when I wake up I think to myself that I could actually breath underwater though you really cant without equipment. In the mornings if Im too tired Ill fall back to sleep but I dream as if Im already up and doing stuff.

Im not exactly sure if I have ever experienced Out of Body but my husband told me about when we started dating and I think he even tried to do it himself with a friend, I think he succeeded. He said you just need to relax your mind and body and when your out of your body dont freak out cause once you know your not in your body you get zapped back into the body or something like that but once your out you can walk around but I dont think you can go through doors or walls or anything.
