I guess it depends on how much, how often, how bad you feel.. I think most drs. , if they cant get you in would say to go to the dreaded emergency room if you feel that bad

I hope and pray you feel better soon !!! Keep us posted and God Bless You..

Mine would possibly make me wait, unless things get worse--then he would suggest I call him and/or visit the ER. He would prescribe orals for me to take in the mean time.

It is scary the first time you see red. It could be an infection or you may have coughed real deeply and popped a blood vessel.

No one ever likes to cough up blood... I HATE IT!!! The first few times I would alsway go immediately into the ER... just to wait for 4 hours to be sent home... After that, I have learned that if it is not alot and followed by pain, it is OK... I am not a doctor though... I would call tomorrow... they may want to just start you IVs a few days earlier... Good luck and if you go to our blog I wrote a blog on coughing up blood a few months and had some great responses.. It is so funny the difference between the "parental" advice and the "CFer" advice... LOL!!!
We love you!!! and I think it would be harder love someone with our disease rather than having it... Thank you for loving us!!!

i've been on cipro and bactrim for the last week. i don't feel bad, i had a cough but the medicine has helped. i'm still so congested though.

i haven't coughed up any more since about 10:00 this morning. my nurse told me to hold off on treatments tonight and if i don't have any more blood tomorrow to resume with them.

i'm scheduled to have a picc placed at 7:30 monday morning. it was probably a tablespoon total that i coughed up.

thanks for all of yalls input.
