OMG...the pain...

I'm sure nothing will be positive during my upcoming OB/GYN appointment on May 1st, but I'm looking forward to it anyway.

As I stated in another thread, I ovulated Sunday. Well starting Saturday, I was extremely bloated, felt constipated, and had such pain. Some of the pain was throughout the whole pelvic area yet most was located near the left ovary...again...

I made it through the weekend...I was popping Advil like candy every 4 hours. It did NOTHING. I was half tempted to go to the ER. However, I have a $100.00 copay so I decided to pass and wait and see.

Well, Monday I was watching Aidan and barely made it through. I was so uncomfortable. Everytime I had to use the bathroom either way was murder from the pressure. It was so bad, and the pain was the whole day long. Mostly cramps, but I would have sharp, stabbing pains every once and awhile.

By 5:00 pm, I was so done...I still didn't want to go to the ER and pay $100.00 to wait for 4 hours for an ultrasound. My old OB/GYN is 1 hour each way so I wasn't in for that either. Besides, they suck. I didn't want to really call and bother the new clinic yet either...I wasn't sure what to do. I knew the cyst on the left side must have been rather large. However, I think the fact that I ovulated or tried to had so much to do with it all. Needless to say, I ended up taking a Oxycotin that Jake had leftover from an ear infection nearly 1 year ago. That killed the pain. Finally, I felt better. Heck, I could have jumped off a cliff and would have thought that I could fly...

Today, Friday, the pain is gone completely. It got slightly better each day to now. At least I'll have a good weekend. Next week, I'll start with PMS so I'll be crappy again for the next 10 days or so... PMS time + 7 day period.

I'm so sick of it!!! I have constant lower back pain which is so much stronger during my periods that seemed to have gotten worse. My periods themselves haven't changed much. Some are heavier than others but not progressive worse over time.

However, this terrible pain during ovulation is something that is new. It has been getting much worse and more frequently for the past 9 months. When I came off the pill, nearly 3 years ago, I had those same problems maybe once every 6 months. Then, it became once every 3 months. Now, I have had it every mid-cycle for the past 6 months. The last thing I feel like doing is baby dancing...

I'm so tired of being miserable 2 to 2.5 weeks out of the month!!!

This upcoming appointment will be interesting to say the least. I'm not sure what will happen...

i so feel your pain./
i have always had ovulation pain - since i was 12. i started have pain with my period when i was maybe 18.
See a doctor. Ask for naproxen. it is like advil, but it works on pms cramps. it doesnt interfere with fertility.

do you have clots during your period?

When i ovulate the only thing that helps is a hot bath, and some naproxen. it doesnt take it away, it calms it down.

My ovaries hurt like there swollen and pinchy and like when i sit down my cervix is hitting the chair.

ask about endometriosis. i have it. i got it 'fixed' in january and ive been better since- not cured but better.

Advil is like taking candy for the pain. It does NOTHING!!!

I have and has have had clots throughout my periods. They can get as large as my pinky nail. I usually pass them when I use the bathroom. It's enough to make me cringe...

My new GYN is suspecting endo, sadly. But at least, I will find answers. I'm sure it's pretty advanced too. Always keeping it real! That way I don't get hurt.

Hey, I take it that a lap may not have been enough for you? How bad were you? I know there are different grades. How advanced were you? I'm sure we will have that in common...Hey, you still aren't alone! Not really something to smile about, but you're not alone!

Check out my other post for details! I have my first lap May 28th.

Edited to Add: I know that endo is usually geneticly linked. Well, my Mom always had terrible cysts on both ovaries but got pregnant easily. However, her sister (my aunt) had endo so badly that she ended up getting a hysterectomy. She was able to have 2 kids naturally, though.

i was told i had stage one endo. Unfortunately my gyn made it seem like the endo i did have wasnt enough to be causing me the pain i had. in other words, i was complaining more than i should.
HOWEVER, and the books, specialists, everyone says the amount of endo you have is not dependant on how much endo you have. I had two spots of endo 1mm each. I think my doc missed some spots because I still have pain in one spot with every period, right on my left kidney area. Ive always had this pain with periods, and have gone to the er quite a few times (4 or 5) just bc i was worried about my kidneys and bc i have diabetes. they never found anything wrong. Ive had 4 periods (3 at least)i think since my lap.
I used to have big clots. this is tmi- but it would like pieces of liver... ew ew. I wouldnt bleed day 1, id have these clots and HUGE pains... all day long, then i would bleed day 2, and have less pain. You can look it up on the net actually. not my pieces- thats gross!
It would also feel like someone was ripping in sections my insides out ( the uterine lining). it would feel like wallpaper being torn down in sheets.. thats the only way i can descripe it.
I would also have diahrea, huge cramps almost like contractions , nausea (but no vomiting). what else.. oh my medicine ( cf and diabetes) wouldnt work around the days of my period. this was great fun to add to all the pain i was in.
My legs would cramp, my knees would ache. my tailbone and hips would make me cry.
Also ovulating was horrible. My pains would start a few days before ovulation, in my ovaries and then the rest of the pms symptoms would start until about day 2 of my next cycle.
now-- you can see that the amount of pain your in isnt related to how much endo you have.
i would recommend a lap to almost everyone - if your lungs can handle it, get it done, bc the worst thatll happen is you dont have endo and then youll know. the best that can happen is you have it and they can remove it.

good luck- you can ask me anything you want. are you on facebook? if so there are endo groups there ad theyll support you and answer anything you want. im on their and i can send you an invite if you like.

i would recommend a lap to almost everyone - if your lungs can handle it, get it done, bc the worst thatll happen is you dont have endo and then youll know. the best that can happen is you have it and they can remove it.

good luck- you can ask me anything you want. are you on facebook? if so there are endo groups there ad theyll support you and answer anything you want. im on their and i can send you an invite if you like.

i was told i had stage one endo.
