Bah, me too, home iv's after 7 days in hospital!! i didn't even realise i was sick until i woke up at 4am one morning with a heartbeat of 200 per minute eeeekkk!!! so i drove myself to hospital in an absolute panic, they had to give me a drug to slow my heart down, but all my blood tests said nothing was wrong. they sent me home saying it was 'anxiety'. pah!!! i ended up back in there with 'anxiety' and finally they agreed to start me on IV's based on 'how i feel' rather than my strangely normal test results. i'm finally home for another 9 days of IVs. I'm doing my ceftazadime as a push this time, only takes 5 minutes and only have to to tobra once a day through the IV pole, not so bad. Carrying on as normal, eating like a pig and have managed to put on all the weight i lost in just one week YAY!! (3.5 kgs, which is about 10 pounds) hehe i'm a pig when on IVs. Am also exercising although doing so yesterday gave me an anxiety attack. Sheesh, ya just can't win!!! Hope you all start to feel much better soon, i'm looking forward to going back to work on Monday, i miss everybody.

I'm in the home IV club these next two weeks too LOL

I have the iv push for my one antibotic and then the ball for the TOBI. I love the push one because it is so quick (10 minutes with all the flushing and cleaning) but the ball is nice since I don't have a bag to carry around. And yeah so much better than the hospital!

I've just been watching TV, sleeping, playing on the internet and visiting family and friends in between doses. I know I will be bored by Monday so I am planning on going through all my pictures and organizing them and putting them in albums I'd rather be bored at home then bored in the hospital!!!!

i totally agree. i'd rather be at home than in the hospital. i just got the insurance company to change from the iv drip to the eclipse balls. i've had them before, they are so fantastic. anyone on drip try to switch to the eclipse balls, i promise you'll be very satisfied. it takes like the same time but you're more mobile with them. good stuff when you don't have to haul your pole into the bathroom with you!!

Pole, bag? Really?
Do a lot of your docs still order these?

Now I do realize that not all meds can be dispensed in the balls, but for the meds that can't I use a syringe pump instead of the bag/pole set up. Anyone else use syringe pumps?
