One day I'm energetic....

Hello,

Do any of you guys get this often? I've been so energetic and exercising and feeling really good lately. Last weekend I skipped working out b/c we did a good workout on Friday. I jogged a little yesterday for 3 minutes and just stopped b/c I wanted to! I was tired, my legs felt like jello, my brain was mushy, etc. Today I was suppose to go workout but felt too tired and really blah. I hate this.

Do you guys get this, where one day you're good to go and doing really well and the next you're just really tired and it lasts for a while? It's not that I feel sick or that I'm getting sick at all....I'm just tired and don't feel very strong. It's almost like that tired unmotivated feeling, but I don't think I'm unmotivated. I am motivated mentally with the work I'm doing, I was excited about the exercising, about getting up in the mornings, etc. But so far this week is blaaaahhhhh! I'm so blah, that I'm struggling to do my night time treatments....I just sooo don't want to deal with it. I just want to lay down. What's my problem?

I know I get that once and awhile. I'm going through that phase right now. Last week I was going for daily walks for about 40 minutes, feeling really good, and this past weekend/week I've been very tired. Sleeping 10 hour nights, and still feeling like I need more sleep. I can still get out and do things, but I find myself getting tired more quickly.

A few things

Yes I get this way sometimes and when I do .. I go with it I lay down and take a nap. I used to feel badly if I had to take a nap during the day and I would force myself to stay awake, but I have realized if my body is saying it is tired there is a reason and I need to let it rest.

Do you know your blood sugars are under control? (thinking of Liz too for this one) I get really REALLY tired when my blood sugars are high. Like the kind of tired that I can't hold my eye lids open no matter what I do tired.

Are you sure you are getting enough O2? When I have had low O2 levels I get excessively tired. I can sleep 10-11-12 hours and still have to throw myself out of bed to get up and at that I am fatigued and physically exhausted. Just a thought.

As for exercising - I have realized that even if I don't keep my "normal" pace that doing anything is good, so I just go at the pace I need to for that day even if it is super duper slow or if I can handle faster that is good too.

I hope you start getting more energy - and don't hesitate to take a nap if you need to and you have the chance. Sometimes that is all our bodies need is a little extra rest.

Take Care,
Lindsey

I too get spells of this, I find I get it more when I take too much of a break from the gym. I've wondered if maybe it's my body's immune system kick starting up from the exercise and flushing out some bacteria/viruses from being off lazing around and immune sytem slowing or getting more relaxed, if you understand what I'm trying to say. I usually keep pushing myself and do it anyway, wether feeling bad or good, I also notice that when this occurs I tend to caugh more and bring up more crap from exercising, then it wares off and I begin to feel like myself again. But lately it's been giving me hell to get back at it since taking a break while having IV antibiotics, and it's hard to motivate myself when I'm feeling like crap

Oh yes, you are not alone!!!! When I feel like this I try and find a different activity to do, walking in a park, playing with the dogs, neighborhood kids, mall, anything! If you involve other people you are more likely to feel motivated to do something when you're tired then when you are alone.

Good Luck!!! Thinking of you!!!! Wish we lived close because I could use a buddy to help me out right now<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

YES Kelly! Man this is something I go through like once every 2-3 weeks or so...I am on this program to train for a 10k..I run like 3-5 miles 3 times a week, do cardio 3 more days and have Fridays off. But I'm tellin ya sometimes I get so tired I'll put on my work out clothes and my shoes and then just be like "heck no I'm not doin this today,I'm too exhausted!."
Like Tuesday I was supposed to run 3 miles..I got ready and I started and then just walked the whole thing because I couldn't exhurt the energy. And that was after like a cool 10 hours of sleep. I mean I am definately motivated, I work a ton, practice/play in my band, and I'm never home except to sleep because I'm working on anything possible.
The whole brain feels mushy is totally how I feel too, as well as my whole body just saying be cool!!
Liz I've been doing that crazy sleeping pattern too..I'll sleep for like 10-12 hours then feel tired..today I woke up at 6am after like 5hours of sleep to do a radio show and it was crazy..I felt better than if I get 10 hours. Whatever, it's crazy!
Good luck and stay motivated.
