I have had sinus congestion(severe) for about 2 wks now. My doc just put me on Levaquin 750mgs for 21 days, which I've never been on before. I'm on day 8 and not seeing much change, if any. Has anybody had a good outcome on this drug?

It's the same class of drug as cipro, although it's a bit more broad spectrum. I used levaquin and cipro for PA for a long time, and they helped until I eventually had to quit taking it due to tendon troubles (a listed but unusual side effect, I think).

If you have taken a lot of cipro, that may be your problem. Otherwise, I would definitely think it should have worked by now if it's going to do the trick.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Levaquin gives me insomnia, but works okay. Not as well as Cipro though (go figure ). The best med I've ever taken for a sinus infection that wasn't iv was a nasal neb. I think I had cephtaz in it (whichever one smells like cat pee, lol). My ENT did a culture and it came back pa so this is the route he decided on.I'd do it again in a heart beat, despite the smell . Hope you're feeling better soon. Are you doing nasal rinses? They help a ton .
