I got a monster pill box, that I can put everything in (including my FizzyNAC) and that sits on my kitchen table. It's a weekly, 4 a day case, and I have my meds arranged by what I typically eat and which meds can be taken with my vitamins, milk/calcium, etc. I have a bunch of travel pill boxes that I can keep "extras" of the pills I take during the day, in case I am out and about longer than I thought I would be or forget to grab the ones I am supposed to take.
I also have a Xopenex inhaler that is handy to keep in my purse, in case I need an "extra shot" of it during the day (say, elevator ride with someone wearing perfume I can't take...) or in case I am nebbing in the car, and am really, really short on time.
I am supposed to have my Prandin (diabetes med) on my bathroom counter, so I can take it first thing when I get up (got it refilled yesterday, and forgot to refill the bathroom pill box -thanks for reminding me, lol).
I eat breakfast first thing in the morning, and then do my nebs. I have a Pari Trek S, that I use at least 2 times a week in the car on the way to my morning swim, for my Xopenex and HTS, and since it pretty much lives in the car, I can also take those meds with me in the evenings when I am out and get a jump starton my meds for the night on the way home or at my friends'/relatives' houses . I am still working on getting a good spot for my nasal washes worked out, but I think that may end up being a between breakfast and nebs thing.
I guess that since my nebs/meds are the one thing no one else can do for me/help me with that has to be done in a day, I have developed a bit of a motto around here, too- my house can be a big ol' mess from lack of attention- my lungs are another story! lol
Now, if anyone would like to help me get my closets and drawers organized...
Oh! When I am starting my home IVs, I put the times up on a dry erase board in the kitchen, where I (and other people in the house!) can see it often, and I have someone come over and tend to Ab when I do my IVs, so I can do IVs uninterrupted and undistracted . Usually that ends up being only once a day, for about an hour- dh is usually home for the other one or two.
