My son Hunter has had a feeding tube for about three years now it has done wonders.
Lik a couple people has said it does leak, then you have yucky sheets etc. i went to walmart and bought a flat cib protector, put one fitted sheet down, then the crib protector, then another fitted sheet so if it leaks on the middle of the noght all you have to do is take off the top sheet, and have a exta pillow handy.
Good luck

When the decision was made for Parker to get his tube put in, I started talking to him about the process and explained how placing the tube would stop most of the pushing as far as food goes. We also discussed which type of tube we would be using and how this would not interfere with activities he wants to participate in. I set opportunities for Parker to ask his doctor questions about the process as well. This helped him with a lot of the anxiety. He does complain of the tube leaking from time to time or getting up in the night to go to the bathroom while attached to the tube but we have been able to problem solve this. He is getting about 3,000 calories a night in his tube so his lack of appetite during the day is not a reason to have a major battle at each meal. He is more relaxed and I am as well. The biggest difference is that when he had his tube placed om January he weighed 57 pounds. June 1st (before he went to his mother's house) he weighed 73 pounds. He has lost some since his mother does not do the feedings as regularly as I do but we will make it up when he comes back in August. Good Luck
