OVERWEIGHT MOM

I know alot of CFers battle keeping weight on, but I am the opposite. I am a mom to a CFer that needs to lose weight.

I am about 25 pounds over my desired weight. I decided last night that it is time to do something about it!! I do not really overeat, but do not eat the proper things, and DO NOT exercise enough.

Anyone else battling this issue? If so, maybe we can work together and keep each other motivated.

I am going to go to the grocery store today and get some "good" foods for me and plan on exercising twice a day. Go to Curves in the morning, and get on the treadmill at night.

It would be great if we can start a little "stay motivated" club here.

Seana, It is SOOOO hard to be a trim, slender CF mom. All the high calorie food I cook and buy for my kids! All the time I spend on the kids' health and not on my own. Plus-I eat when I'm stressed.

I have always been just a bit overweight, more so after my kids were born. Four years ago I lost 30 pounds doing weightwatchers at work (convenient time) and was able to keep it off until last spring. I jumped on my exercise trampoline every night and watched some TV. Having Josh in the hospital really put me on an eating spiral. With both kids on IVs, I find very little time for exercise. I'm up about ten and need to get back on track.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif" border="0">

For me its all about portion control. I usually eat healthy foods (except for candy, which I love), but I eat WAY too much. I just have to buckle down.

By the way, weightwatchers.com has great recipes (the baked goods are gross though). Usually I can make the meals and add high calorie things for the kids' portions. I'll help you with motivation if you want. PM me anytime!

i lost almost a stone in weight. here are my tips. get loads of
exercize, not stressful stuff even just walk to get your groceries,
run up the stairs, dont eat anything white(an oprah tip) ie
potatoes crisps rice pasta  you get the picture...if you crave
sweet things clean your teeth with a childs bubble gum paste
(yummy) if you snack at night go to bed early. do some knitting
(claudia schiffer does it to keep here hands off the snacks) if you
really wanna do it you will its up to you if you cheat you are
cheating yourself and you should be able to trust yourself. good
luck.....how many kilos is 25lbs anyway?

Jane, I am a Mom with CF - weight has been an issue for my whole life. I have a sugar problem (!) probably due to candida from all those antibiotics for all of those years

Thank you for all of the responses!!

Jane, I completely understand what you are talking about having to keep all the junk in the house. We keep a ton of it for Courtney and sometimes it is just to hard to resist!!

I think what I am going to do is start a weekly blog that we can all use if we want. I will be the first brave sole to put my height and weight, and how much I want to lose. I will keep track of my excerise, and post it weekly. Each Friday I will state my weight, how much/ if I lost any weight, etc.

I hope others will join in with me!! It will be nice to be able to support each other.
