With DS, we were advised to give him regular table food as most baby food was low in fat and sodium. However, he didn't like certain textures -- ground mean, applesauce would make him gag. He loved babyfood ham and stage 2 mac & cheese, so I'd shovel it in. Same with yogurt. When he got a little older he loved spagettios. Once on vacation to Mexico, I fed spagettios to him 2-3 times a day for meals. Bascially, I'd find something he liked and didn't care if that's all he ate.

And apparently he DID eat more variety at daycare. Ground up tuna casserole, beef stew, hot dish.. Probably peer pressure. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

We do a lot of coconut milk and coconut oil for weight gain. I have been giving Caleb mashed bananas with 1 t coconut oil and ground oats since he was 6 months. i also make him drinks with the equivalent of naked juice and add coconut milk and coconut oil to it. very tasty and a lot less added sugar. my boys get sugar highs when they drink the pediasures and other high cal drinks.

blessings,
missa
