I definitely agree to get tested for allergies. I am hugely allergic to cats and so no cats for me. Kicking my dog out of my bedroom at night really helped, but now I'm going to kick them outside (with a doggy door into the heated garage), as soon as we move to our new house. I think it will really help because even though I am not allergic to dogs, since they go outdoors, they bring in the outdoor stuff that I am allergic to.

I think that the hair from the animals can probably mess with your lungs...that said even if I was on my deathbed I would never get rid of Marley (my dog). Also if you have dogs they obviously need to be walked/run decent aerobics. I've toyed with the idea of not getting another dog for the very reasons y'all have listed above.
