Based on the replys you can tell that we are all real animal lovers!
We have a pug dog and he was only 1 year old when our first daughter was born. He is now 5 and we have 2 daughters with CF. He feels it is his duty to be right next to us when the nebulizers go on and actually supports my arm on one side when I do their physio (I have a pillow on the other side). He is a great dog and the girls love him! I think in many cases it is beneficial to have that unconditional love from a pet whether you have CF or not. We love him!

lindseyrose, once you fall in love with those kinds of breeds there is no going back lol. id never get anything else apart from an akita. sometimes i think 'wouldnt it be nice to have this and that breed' but id never go through with it.

I have had CF all my life and grew up on a farm. I also have asthma and never had a problem with any animals. They actually give me more joy then problems

And your CF team sais that it was safe?
I was told by my daughter's CF team that she cannot have pets that have fur because of dander and apparenly it cause nose polyps ( I think this was the name) which apparenly are quite painful and require surgery to have them removed?
My daughter loves dogs and I feel so bad for her that we can't have one. I take her to the dog park int he summer so she can at least see other dogs play, adn some of my friends have dogs that she gets to play with when she visits...but I never knew she could have one as a pet!?
