I have always had at least moderate clubbing my whole life.
 When I was younger my cf was very mild.  I dont remember
what my lung function was but I know for a long time it was very
good,  and I still had a lot of clubbing (all fingers and
toes).  now my fev1 is is the mid 20s and o2 is say 92-95 and
still same ole clubbing.

Mike's:

FEV1: 20
02: 94 on constant oxygen
clubbing: mild

I always assumed clubbing was genetically linked to the cf gene. You know like there is a hearing loss syndrome related to 2 different colored eyes. I never really thought about it. Good idea! I want to know. Although from the looks of things it looks really variable.

fev1=32%
O2=97-98%
no clubbing or if so...very mild

I have heard also that clubbing is related to oxygen levels. At one time I questioned my dr. about why my fev1 is fairly low but my oxygen is fine. That puzzled me....I thought it made sense that if the fev1 was low....oxygen would be low. He told me because the decline in my fev1 was slow that my body adjusted and was able to maintain the 97-98% oxygen level. So, could it also be the same with clubbing? The slower the decline in lung function, the less clubbing?
