PFT's, O2 Sats and Finger Clubbing - Survey

fev1=32%
O2=97-98%
no clubbing or if so...very mild

I have heard also that clubbing is related to oxygen levels. At one time I questioned my dr. about why my fev1 is fairly low but my oxygen is fine. That puzzled me....I thought it made sense that if the fev1 was low....oxygen would be low. He told me because the decline in my fev1 was slow that my body adjusted and was able to maintain the 97-98% oxygen level. So, could it also be the same with clubbing? The slower the decline in lung function, the less clubbing?

I dunno,  I heard this too,  I was told once during a
transplant evaluation that my clubbing would disappear post op.
 Like I mentioned earlier though I had really mild cf growing
up and had excellent sats and always had significant clubbing.
 So... based on my personal experience I don't believe that
theory,  I believe it must be more genetic based. Not sure if

My understanding is that clubbing is a circulation thing. It was explained like this: if you have poor circulation the capilaries in you hands and feet will expand to allow more blood/oxygen to flow through. Poor circulation is common with resperatory and heart disease and diabetes.

FEV1: 60-65%
O2 sats: 99%
Clubbing: Mild (moderate for my toes).

I was told it was to do with the inflamation in your body. I don't think any one really knows.

FEV 58-60%

O2 98-100%

No clubbing ever
