omg! i have wanted to post about this for ages but thought i was being sooky. lol. by the looks of all these posts its not just me or you! i get all weak at even the thought of pics, blood tests or anything going into veins! i also get happy gas and loopy drugs usually although last time they wouldn't give them to me (long story, awful experience). anyway just wanted to say (incase you had not already noticed) you are def. not alone with this and get the drugs. they are good! I've only had a PICC line once before. I was terrified. Fear of the unknown. It wasn't as bad as I thought though. They still scare me though!

I took a (spl?) and I will never do that again!

picc lines used to scare me so bad. bu now i get verced a medicine that maes you loopy and you are totally out of it. next time ask for that and you'll never be scared to get another one again <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Personally, I don't like the feeling of being loopy. I'd much rather think it through logically and calm myself down that way. The 'loopy pill' didn't work last time. As soon as they brought the wheelchair down to take me to get it put in, I was back to my senses and even more afraid. Never again will I take those pills! lol

However, the PICC line is not a restrictive thing, I've learned. I am very hard-core when it comes to my soccer team and a week or so after I got the line put in, we played our rivals. I played too. I just wrapped it really well! When I got it taken out, I went straight from the Dr. to another game. I had it taken out in my uniform!! lol I have a picture somewhere of me with my arm wrapped. I'll see about posting it later. I'm having sinus surgery/PICC line again next month. I'll still be playing/running. Nothing will hold me back. :]
